A man accused in the shooting death of his 19-year-old friend May 17 at Valley Heights Apartments in Quincy has been charged with homicide with an enhancement of using a firearm.



Those are the official charges from the district attorney's office. The accused man, Willard Marvin James Bradley, 21, is scheduled to appear in Plumas County Superior Court tomorrow. A court-appointed attorney, former District Attorney James Reichle, is representing him. Reichle said Judge Ira Kaufman asked him May 21 if he would take the case. Some of the four contracted public defenders had conflicts because they had either represented one of the men or their families in the past. Reichle said that he has handled at least a dozen homicide cases in his career. He has handled both prosecution and defense.
