As surmised among the rumorscenti, this morning's Apple Store outage was the preshow for a MacBook Pro speed bump. The new units ship with either 2.2 GHz or 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo (Santa Rosa) processors, upgraded NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT video cards (with either 128 MB or 256 MB of VRAM), new mercury-free LED displays, and a minimum of 2 GB of RAM (yay!) with support for 4 GB (YAY!). The slot-loading optical drive has also been updated to 8x, in line with the MacBook configs. Apple also notes that the 17-inch model "offers a new optional 1920-by-1200 high-resolution display, providing over 30 percent more screen real estate than the standard 1680-by-1050 display." Does it come with a set of magnifying glasses too? The 802.11n version of the Airport Extreme card rounds out the feature package. Worth Noting: Leaving Dog Poop Not a Crime
Stateline.org - infoZine - School-age pranksters everywhere can breathe a sigh of relief. A former Democratic Party activist in Colorado was found not guilty of illegally using a noxious substance when she left dog feces on the doorstep of Republican U.S. Rep. Marilyn Musgrave's office. Kathleen Ensz, who was the vice chairman of a state Senate district for her party, resigned from the job last fall. Ensz's lawyer said her prosecution was due to politics, telling the Rocky Mountain News, "She was the first person prosecuted in Weld County for leaving dog crap." A porn star's blog led to the firing of a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper. The woman, who goes by the name Barbie Cummings, posted video footage and a blog entry claiming she had oral sex with the 10-year-veteran trooper during a traffic stop, according to the Knoxville News-Sentinel, which posted an exclusive video interview with the woman.

Since much of this food contains large amounts of illegal contaminants who is the winner in this part of the Bridge game? Is the toxic food acceptable collateral damage for luring China away from Russia and toward Oceania or simply to impoverish, sicken and weaken Americans? How about that Clinton proposal to grant China a port and free trade zone in Southern California? Was that to draw them toward our bloc or to expose it to Communist influence and lowered wage and health standards? The Bush II version of this plan was to turn over inspections at six of Americas ports to a conglomerate based in Dubai and Britain. It sounds like fanning the flames of pan-Islamic nationalism.* If our leaders are playing to win, at whose expense is the game? From 1920-48 the British perverted their League of Nations Mandate to establish a National Home for the Jewish people in Palestine (Jordan and Israel), ultimately defining Jewish immigration and settlement, which they were required to facilitate, as illegal while encouraging limitless Arab immigration as well as frequent attacks on the Jews.
